Friday was a gross rainy day for us. I was busy cleaning the house and doing laundry, getting ready for friends visiting over the weekend. Ben was getting antsy and asking me for an "activity". Inspired by a little jack o lantern foam craft sent by my mom, I pulled out our craft felt, some scissors and some white glue and let him have some fun.

He cut out a bunch of shapes and glued them into ghosts and small pumpkins. I then cut out various pumpkin shapes and a bunch of mouths and triangles, and let him assemble some jack o lanterns.

Some time and a bunch of glue later, we had a series of cute little jack o lanterns ready to be turned into a garland. I got some white cotton yarn and a tapestry needle and strung them all together. We hung it up and it is now decorating our dining room!

Easy, fun Halloween craft if you're looking for something to do with the kiddos before the big day!
We went trick-or-treating at the zoo yesterday. Here's a sneak peek of the Rainbow Lizard in his natural habitat! I'll post the details tomorrow.

What fun Halloween crafts have you been working on with the kiddos? Are your costumes ready to go? Happy Halloween to you!
Very cute garland, I love it! And Ben's lizard costume turned out so great, congratulations to the creator! Ben must be so proud to wear it...
ReplyDeleteOh my, rainbow lizard turned out great! Exactly what he asked for, I bet he's happy! I love the garland, too, most especially because of his handiwork. Miss those days when my kids were little and liked to do crafts!
ReplyDeleteJenny, the costume turned out so cute! He looks adorable. And, he's old enough that I'll bet he remembers this costume as something very special years from now!
