Today I want to introduce everyone to a lovely shop: 1 Canoe 2. In their own words:
Hi! We're a mad-crafting duo based out of Mid-Missouri. We like to carve linoleum blocks and play with teeny metal letters on our little letterpress.
This shop is the end result of many brillant plans hatched around campfires and in canoes on the spring fed rivers of the Missouri Ozarks.
We love to sketch patterns and scenes from daily life, and then convert them to woodcut or letterpress prints. Our letterpressed designs are printed on a couple of 2000 lb, 70 year old Chandler&Price presses in a big red barn in sunny Mid-Missouri.
I first met Beth years ago, when a group of friends put together a craft show around the holidays. We were all moms, except for Beth (the show was called "Mamamade") but we made her an honorary mama because we liked her so much and loved all her handsewn items. Now, Beth is ready to have her first baby! Sadly she's moved away from Nashville and we don't do the craft show anymore, but we've kept in touch (love Facebook!) and when I asked if I could feature her shop on Stumbles and Stitches she graciously accepted!
These are some of my favorite items from 1 Canoe 2, in no particular order:
I also wrote about her amazing recipe box in 2009, on my personal blog: When Worlds Collide.
You can also buy their address box at Anthropologie, here! (I know the recipe box was being carried by Anthro too, but I don't see it on their website.....)
Do you like what you see? I can hardly believe it, but Beth has very generously offered all our readers a 20% discount on all 2011 calendars in the shop! Only one week into January this is the perfect chance to pick up a calendar if you haven't already bought one, or to pick up an extra to give as a gift or to have at your office, in the kitchen, hallway, bathroom or wherever else you need something BEAUTIFUL and handmade.
Here are some examples, click the link below the photo to go to the Etsy shop!
Enter in discount code 2011CALENDARSALE for your 20% off! And, all calendars get free shipping too!
Beth also has a blog, StitchRipRepeat and you can find 1Canoe2 on Facebook and their website too.
